My Story
I have always subconsciously been into health from a young age, growing up playing sports and swimming for my county. I was a very sporty child & teenager.
As a teenager, my friends would say “Beth, why don’t you get any spots?”, and this is because I didn’t, whilst they were battling hormonal spots/acne throughout puberty. However that all changed years later, and it was my own hormonal journey that opened my eyes into being health conscious.
I was on the oral contraceptive pill for about 5 years with no problems. Due to my growing knowledge of health, I decided it was best for me to stop taking the oral contraceptive pill, and when I did, the hormonal acne started along with symptoms of imbalanced hormones and being diagnosed with PCOS after years of synthetic hormone use.
In addition to this, I underwent a period in my life where I was chronically stressed. This was due to a very demanding full-time job, studying, and HIIT training classes 5x per week (which I attended because they helped me destress, but not realising the impact this kind of intensity actually had on my body). This further imbalanced my hormones and caused me to be chronically fatigued.
Alongside my full time job I used to be a Personal Trainer, helping clients achieve their fitness goals. However, even though I loved training clients, it did not seem to fulfil my passion. I did not want to focus just on calories in and calories out for my clients, I wanted them to achieve true health not only through exercise, but nutrition and lifestyle too.
This is why I took the leap to train 3 years as a Naturopathic Nutritionist, to further develop my own healing journey and to help others find the root cause of their symptoms to live a healthier life.
